To encourage friendly competition and to continue on the success of last year’s competition, the HWRC Championship return in 2026 featuring the ELVIS Races and other local Races throghout the year.
Races will feature from March to October and it is hoped that it will encourage members to participate in these local races.
Members will be placed in to Divisions based on the Pace data from recent Parkrun events (last 6 months) and races.
New members or members that don’t participate in Parkrun will be assessed on their race performance and will be entered in to a division at the discretion of the Committee.
Trophies will be awarded for each Division Winner and will be presented as the Christmas Party.
These are the Divisions times for 2026 based on 5K Parkrun Data, there may be some adjustments based on 2025 performance and to try and keep a similar number of members in each division.
Members must Register for races under ‘Harold Wood Running Club’.
To qualify for the Club Championship Awards, Members must complete 8 Events on the Club Race Calendar.
This includes a minimum of 4 Races from the ELVIS Series and 4 other Races listed on the Race Calendar.
There are opportunities to score Bonus Points on the Parkrun Months and by Volunteering in the planning, set up or hosting of our HWRC ELVIS race.
Race results will be taken from the official published race results for ‘Chip Times’ when available from the event organisers.
Chip time is generally preferred for club leagues because it ensures fairness, especially when members run in large mass-participation events where they may be stuck behind slower runners at the start.

Parkrun Month |
Requires member to run a Parkrun Event within that month, your best time will be ordered and points scored per Division. Points are awarded based on your published Time on the Parkrun Website and Members must have ‘Harold Wood Running Club’ as their registered Club on their Parkrun Profile. Within your Division – 1st Place Member is awarded 20 points, 2nd 19 points, 3rd 18 points, etc. |

Half Marathon and Marathon Runs |
Any official Timed Half or Full Marathon event completed between 1st March and 31st October. Times will be ordered within your division, with 1st Place Member awarded 20 points, 2nd 19 points, 3rd 18 points, etc. Will be counted as one of your 4 Race Calendar Events if Points are within your 4 best results. |
